A House That Changes With the Day
Light is a defining element of Drew House. As the sun moves, it filters through the forest canopy, across grass trees, bloodwoods, and cabbage palms, and over the curved forms of the pods, casting ever-changing shadows that soften interiors and deepen the connection to the surrounding bushland. Each time of day brings a different atmosphere, from early morning dappled light to golden afternoons and softly lit walkways at night.
The pods are arranged as a series of separate living, sleeping, and bathing pavilions, connected by a raised, covered timber walkway. Moving between spaces feels like a gentle nature walk, particularly in the evenings when subtle lighting guides you through the trees. This separation enhances privacy and stillness while keeping you connected to the environment.
The residence is thoughtfully positioned in the centre of the allotment, creating a rare sense of seclusion and retreat so close to the coast.
Wildlife is a constant presence, with monitor lizards, echidnas, kangaroos, and an extensive range of birdlife regularly passing through the property.

Living Pavilion – The Heart of the Home
At the centre of the design is the striking circular living and dining pod, the first structure revealed as you approach the home. The arrival experience is intentional and memorable, with the cylindrical form contrasted by the zig-zagging roofline of the adjoining pavilion, immediately setting the architectural tone.
Wide sliding doors allow the living space to open completely to the expansive covered timber deck. The modern kitchen features a five-burner gas stove, dishwasher, and a generous island bench, ideal for communal meal preparation and entertaining, flowing effortlessly to outdoor dining.

Opposite the kitchen is a dedicated entertainment and relaxation zone with built-in sofas. Ceiling fans, extensive openable windows throughout the home provide natural airflow and comfort year-round.

Bathroom Pavilion – A Signature Experience
The bathroom pavilion is finished in Italian travertine and opens fully to the forest through a full-height wall. Guests can soak in the deep bath or shower while listening to birdsong, or step outside via the distinctive art-glass door that opens in both directions.
The softly diffused silhouette visible through the shower glass has become a signature detail of the house, an artistic moment where privacy and openness coexist.

Bedroom Pavilions – Sleeping Among the Trees
The two bedroom pods feature polished native timber floors and are designed to sit quietly within the forest. Full-width, insect-screened sliding windows allow entire walls to open to the surrounding bushland, inviting in breezes, filtered light, and the sounds of nature.
Ceiling fans, generous ventilation, and flyscreens ensure restful nights in the subtropical climate.

Sunrise at 1770 – A Private Coastal Sanctuary
Sunrise at 1770 is a tightly held, eco-friendly coastal estate offering exceptional shared amenities. These include two horizon pools overlooking the ocean, four tennis courts, poolside barbecue areas, a children's playground, and multiple private beach access points, each leading to its own secluded stretch of coastline.
